Walk with us as we visit locations of significance with relation to the tale of the last woman burned as a witch in Dundee; Grissell Jaffray. Starting at St Mary’s Church outside Overgate Centre (the opposite side from the Steeple), we will visit the sites where Grissell spent her last days, ending up in the Howff graveyard for the final part of her legacy. Picking apart fact from fiction, this will be our most comprehensive re-telling of Grissell’s story and the tragedy that befell her in times of fear, malice and rampant superstition.
